I propose that the maximum amount of vehicles allowed directly relate to seats available and the total number of players on a team.
If a team has 11 players, the number of HAVs, LAVs, or DSs should have a total of 11 seats or less, but not any higher.
For example:
-Team Blueberry begins the match with 11 players.
-The maximum amount of LAVs that can be called in should equate to 3: the total amount of seat positions available being 9 (3 seats available per LAV)
-1 other player joins the Blueberries later on in the match
-The total number of vehicles allowed now should equate to 12 seats, thus enabling an extra LAV to be called in.
-4 players, for whatever reason leave the match
-The total number of LAVs allowed should then drop to 2

This new idea could work, right? |

Or two folks call in a HAVs and two more call in LAVs and everyone else has to walk?
That's lame. Really? I think that is a fair amount. Instead of lone tankers or solo pilots, vehicles can be utilized more for team play. |

What about speeders (aka hover bikes) when they get implemented? They have 1 seat. Once they get into the game and a team has 16 players, then you will see 16 speeders going in becoming the next murder taxi to troll the battlefield.
EDIT:
What about fighters? Aren't those 1-seat vehicles as well? Imagine the skies swarming with them.
But the scenario you present is very unlikely, is it not? What are the chances that an entire team of 16 will each have specced into bikes and fighters? What about the players that will still opt to get their Madrugars and LLAVs out.
If one Python is queued in, 6 or so available seat positions are effectively taken out, thus making the scenario a little more balanced as opposed to 16 total bikes.
However, I will agree with you in that the idea does look good on paper, but may lack practicality as of now. I'm sure that my proposal can be tweaked and refined. My only intention was to offer a solution to the constant rants on murder taxis, but it seems that very few want to offer any suggestions other than:
No free LAVS! |
